We are pleased to announce the publication of a new scientific article by the COIN research team:
“Comparative analysis of sentiments towards different stigmatized groups on social media platforms in Spain”, published in the international academic journal Cuadernos.info (Issue 61).
🧠 This study analyzes more than 520,000 Spanish-language messages posted on X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and Facebook between April and August 2024. Using sentiment analysis tools, the research assesses public perceptions toward five stigmatized groups in Spain: migrants, Muslims, Jews, Roma people, and the LGBTIQ+ community.

🔍 Key Findings:
X is the platform with the most negative sentiment, particularly toward migrants and Jews.
Instagram and Facebook show comparatively more positive environments, especially toward Roma and LGBTIQ+ individuals.
Statistically significant differences were found across both platforms and groups, highlighting patterns of digital polarization and opportunities to promote inclusive narratives.
