Academic Announcement: #IAMCR2025 | Singapore

I will be presenting my research at the IAMCR 2025 Conference, which will take place from 13 to 17 July at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.

Our paper, “Toxicity across digital platforms: Impact on vulnerable communities and strategies for mitigation”, will be part of the panel CJD-5: (Platform) power and justice imaginaries on Tuesday, 15 July at 16:00. The panel explores platform dynamics and social imaginaries from diverse global perspectives, and the COIN team (as part of the OCA of the University of Salamanca) will joint to this fascinating discussion.

Additionally, I will be participating in the IAMCR pre-conference on Emotions and Journalism in today’s dynamic communication landscape, hosted by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the National University of Singapore.

In the panel “Emotions in news production” (12 July, 15:00), I will present “Navigating (Un)safety in Ecuadorian Journalism (2021–2023)”, focusing on affective and political dimensions of professional practice under risk.

Both contributions stem from ongoing work related to the COIN project on digital hate speech and journalistic response strategies.
